What does a common toad sound like?
If you haven’t come across Xeno Canto yet, you need to check it out. Countless sounds of nature all there for you to listen to, you can simply search the animal name and so many sound records from across the world will appear. This sound is by Simon Elliott who has been recording wildlife sounds since 1968!
Where do they hibernate?
Common toads often hide under log piles, stones and old flower pots. They are not the only animal to find refuge in these settings. Consider creating safe havens like this in your garden and remember to be careful to disturb them when gardening in colder months.
