My Story
Hey, I’m Min, the wonder seeker, illustrator and designer behind all the wonderfully wild illustrations you’ll find here at Curious Kin.
I founded Curious Kin to raise awareness for the misunderstood and overlooked creatures my own family has always been drawn to, and it’s that spirit the name comes from: one curious family, reaching out to another.
My children and I are endlessly curious about the creatures we share this planet with, always learning, always spotting something new.
Curious Kin is a studio and independent online shop
I sell illustrated treasures inspired by all the things my family and I have discovered.
It has grown into more than that: it’s a space for others to feed their special interests and celebrate their passions too.
I hope one day this blooms into a community.
From a childhood surrounded by textiles, craft and fine art, to a first-class design degree and years freelancing, nature has always been woven through it all.
Motherhood has added new layers too. Switching between the roles of teacher and pupil as my sons and I share our knowledge and passions with eachother.
Their freely creative spirits make me braver and more determined.
Behind everything I make, there's a story, a connection.
It starts as a doodle or a passing thought, gets researched and developed, drawn and redrawn, then digitally art-worked into something finished.
Everything you see is designed and illustrated here in my studio, then made through UK-based businesses. One of my favourite artist collaborations is with Planet Wrap It, my printer for all recycled Kraft gift wrap.
Curious how it all comes together sustainably?
