A winter greetings card featuring a pair of Arctic woolly bear caterpillars feeding on arctic flowers, surrounded by frosted stars and ice droplets. Every detail was individually drawn and redrawn to get to the finished piece — a reflection of time and patience. This is part of my latest collection Frost Keepers, inspired by animals that know how to wait through winter and trust the thaw.

Did you know?
It takes the Arctic Woolly Bear Caterpillar approximately seven years to build up enough energy to pupate into a moth. Each winter the caterpillar takes shelter and freezes solid before thawing out the next spring — only the caterpillar is capable of freezing, the moth isn’t able to do this.
