There are three species of Zebra living in Africa:
Plains Zebra (near threatened)
The Plains Zebra is the most common species of Zebra found in most terrains except for deserts and rainforests.
Grevy's Zebra (endangered)
Only found in the Horn of Africa, the Grevy’s zebra, is known to live in Ethiopia and Kenya in arid and semi-arid grasslands and shrublands.
Mountain Zebra (vulnerable)
Found in South Africa, Namibia and Angola, the Mountain zebra lives in rugged, mountainous areas.
