When you wander past my stall
Don’t think of everyone else this could be for. Think of how this could be meant for you.
Made from one curious family to another. Whether that is the family you were born into or the one you discovered through shared experience and passion.
Curious Kin is for everyone curious.
I did not create my business just for children. I created it so that I could celebrate your curious family. That includes parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends and yes, even you.
If you’re still thinking this isn’t for you
Think again. I’m thinking of someone who:
- Loves walking barefoot in the grass
- Who can’t resist diving into the ocean
- The traveller who gets excited about exploring somewhere new
- The car passenger shouting with glee “look a…”
- The rain dancer
- The rock flipper who turns over every log and stone
- The one who keeps found treasure
- The ones who love “ah-ha” moments
- And of course, those who stop mid-hike to examine every bit of fungus and lichen
These people are your curious kin.
Somewhere in your childhood were moments of glee standing in nature. Where did they go?
Here at my stall, I witness you all
I am always intrigued by the responses visitors give to my work. My favourites are when people walk by, stop, look, and a smile spreads across their face. Some might say “I can see my grandchild in this” and “Oh wow.” When they do this, my heart sings because I know that just for a moment, I have brought joy to someone. But then I hear those faint words:
“But I don’t have children…”
It’s just one of many whispers I hear. Sometimes people whisper it and others will stop and tell me they wish they could take something home, but they do not have children or their children are grown and others feel it is not quite meant for them.
As they hesitate, words come to me. The ones I always want to say:
It is meant for you.
So I ask you to look again and dive in
What sparked your curiosity as a child?
What did you love to do before it got squashed because it was too messy and there was not enough time.
What got lost when you had to sit still and behave?
I’m inviting you to reconnect with your inner child, the one who loved to swing and climb. It is time to reignite that spark. Curiosity does not have an expiration date.
There is still time to reconnect with wonder and there are still so many amazing things waiting to be discovered by you.
Are you ready to look again?
If you are ready, browse our collection, not for “the kids,” but for the curious kin you already are.
In the meantime, stay curious x
